Mbal Lekeaka Fund

Across communities, organizations and groups are working to address real needs on the ground. Many of these initiatives are driven by people who understand the challenges firsthand. But without access to financial resources, even the most promising community-led projects struggle to launch, sustain, or grow.

The Mbal Lekeaka Fund is a grant program established by Gwags to provide direct financial support to community-led initiatives. The fund targets organizations and groups working on projects that address real needs in their communities but lack the resources to execute or scale. Through the fund, Gwags channels resources toward initiatives that demonstrate clear objectives and measurable potential for impact.

Who can apply

Organizations, community groups, and locally driven initiatives with a clearly defined project.

What is required

A written proposal outlining the initiative, its objectives, expected outcomes, and a detailed budget.

Selection criteria

Proposals are evaluated based on demonstrated community need, operational feasibility, and alignment with the fund's priorities.

Language

Proposals are accepted in both English and French.
